The first thing you’ll notice about the Daiwa Bait Junkie 2.5″ Grub Soft Plastics is the orientation of the tail. By positioning the tip of the tail parallel with the body of the grub, there is no opposing forces from the water acting on the tail. The result is all of the water pressure hits the inside curl of the tail, forcing it to open up and produce that irresistible swimming action.

One of the big benefits of the 2.5″ grub tail is the ability of it to swim well and flutter like crazy even at slow speeds like on the drop or when using really light jig heads.

Daiwa Bait Junkie 4″ Grub

The 4″ Bait Junkie Grub is better suited to heavier fishing scenes, like when chasing snapper and other predatory saltwater fish. You can see the main difference between the 2.5″ Grub and this 4″ Grub is the tail design, where the tail is no longer parallel with the body as these plastics are generally fished with heavier jig heads and thus they don’t require the very slow speed movement. As larger sized baits tend to be used in deeper water or dirtier water chasing more estuarine sportfish species, the rolled over tail design of the 4″ Grub creates more disturbance in the water, allowing predators to key in on the bait even when the water is not clear.

Once again, a rigging line is prominent on both the top and bottom sides of the body for those who prefer a tail up or down rigging method.
